As you know, it’s been a bit of a bad week. However, life is grand because I just heard Kenny Chesney’s new single, “Pirate Flag.”

For those of you who haven’t immediately tuned out, holy crap.

I’m so in love with Kenny’s voice and music. If I’m sad, he makes me happy. If I’m happy, I’m over-the-moon happy.

 

I wish I was joking about how excited I am for his new album. Seeing him live in Cincinnati in 2008 was one of the best days of my life. I’ve never really been one to have many celebrity obsessions/crushes, but there’s something about Kenny and his music that makes me feel like life will always be amazing. I have so much respect for how he’s transformed country music, become something no one else could ever be, and how he still manages to top his previous albums despite the fact that each one is perfect. I’ve always felt my whole life that I’ll someday end up back at my Florida roots. Every time I listen to Kenny I think, yep, that’s where I’ll end up.

The only thing that sucks is that he never comes to Europe! I think there are enough people in Europe who are Kenny fans that he could and SHOULD do at least one show for us. I’d travel anywhere in Europe to go see him.

I’m also thinking that because I have the potential to be SO ANNOYING about Kenny Chesney, I could most likely convince a few friends to go with me for the sake of not having to listen to me anymore. Also, my friends are pretty cool and I can see them not wanting to ruin my life by denying me such an experience. Some one would take the bullet!

Also, if you haven’t listened to No Shoes Radio, I strongly urge you to check it out. There’s also an app for it, which in my opinion is one of the most well-designed apps I’ve seen. NSR isn’t really country – it’s mostly classic rock and cool, modern chill-out tunes with the odd hip-hop track thrown in.  And a lot of Kenny. It really is an awesome station. The few times they do play country (besides his own music), it’s solid stuff. No silliness.
