I’ve been reading about the explosion of the food truck scene in the US, but I didn’t realize how crazy it was until I came to NYC. This is just one street. Food trucks for everything. Everywhere.
We walked around a bit and took some pictures while we finished our Pumpkin Spice Lattes, then went to the Strand bookstore, which apparently has 18 miles of books.
I realize most of my pictures here are annoyingly tilted at a similar angle. Oopsie.
Random city church reminded me of England.
Rather than eating out we went to a Trader Joe’s near Union Square. It was PACKED. Manuela got in line as soon as we got there so I could do the shopping, and by the time I was finished she’d only moved a few feet.
Still, totally worth it. I really really really really miss TJs. I got two cans of Cuban style black beans, a Basmati rice mix, spicy tortillas, smoky spicy peach salsa, fresh guacamole and a bag of collard greens, spinach, mustard greens, etc. A lot of greens. ALSO. Cookie butter. I’m sick of hearing bloggers talk about this, so I decided to test it out, thinking I wouldn’t really like it because I don’t enjoy Nutella or other sweet nut butters/sweet breakfasts.
Yep. We’ve eaten half the jar and it hasn’t even been 24 hours since we bought it.
The peach salsa was heaven! I chose it because it was the only salsa without cilantro, but it was absolutely fantastic. So we had a super tasty, healthy, vegan Mexican dinner last night. Unless the tortillas weren’t vegan, as sometimes happens. I didn’t check.
Then I found this book in Robin’s apartment. She says people got it for her as a joke … but Snuggies are pretty spectacular so who knows.
Chapter 1: Snuggie Sex for Beginners: The Many Tricks Up Those Sleeves.
Chapter 2: Woman on Top: Good for Feminism. Good for Pleasure.
There are chapters on intermediate and advanced Snuggie sex, and my personal favorite about multiple-partner Snuggie sex: “Extra Partners, Extra Sleeves.”

Snuggie sex? Hmm, I kinda feel like a Snuggie is the ultimate cock-block. Not only is it covering the essential parts, I can’t imagine being particularly turned on by a person in a snuggie. But hey, everyone once, right?
Glad you’re rocking New York–I have spent so much time in the Strand, I love it! And Trader Joe’s. I love that peach salsa! On TJ’s blue corn chips, especially.

I really, really want to meet someone who has had sex in a blanket with sleeves. I’d imagine it would be an old couple after they’d tried everything else in the world and figured why not? Plus they get cold more easily.
I’ll try the corn chips! I’m going back today to get more TJ stock.

I love Trader Joe’s, but I don’t go there too often (I love me my Meijer!) BUUUT, TJ used to have PEANUT FLOUR. I mean, that’s amazing. Imagine making peanut butter cookies WITH PEANUT FLOUR. Well, I got it once, excited about a lifelong future with peanut flour, until I returned for more peanut flour, and they stopped stocking it. Apparently the demand was too low… Sad, but not surprised…
