In this city of 12 million people our waiter at our first meal turned out to be an Ohioan who went to Ohio University. My sister went there so we had a good chat about how insane Athens is and how proud OU was to be the number one party school.
He told me his friend got arrested for getting drunk and punching a horse in the face. (I guess the police ride horses sometimes?)
Anyway, after some Ohio-themed bonding we ended up getting a round of expensive drinks on the house! Told ya Ohio’s great. Even in NYC!
Anyway, so far it’s been fun.
Yesterday I met my friend Robin (I’m staying with her) in the city and we ate at a mac and cheese place. It was great! Mine had fennel and onion. I saw one man eating from a plate the size of a hubcap. America!
This morning I made her go running with me in Prospect Park before we picked up Manuela from JFK. Later we had Mexican (where we met the OU waiter) and a night walk through Times Square.
