I just had one of those weekends that makes you extra depressed to go to work Monday morning. I had fun from as soon as I got off work Friday afternoon until this morning when I had to wake up to go to work.
During the days: enjoying sunshine with friends in the park.
I got some new shades which I was super pumped about. I love Zara!
During the evening: outdoor cinema on a (finally!) warm summer night and heaps of delicious Mexican food + tequila. The South Bank is so much fun.
I’ve also been going a bit crazy with Instagram since I started using it again. (follow me! sarakuhlman84)
At the National Theatre they show films on the rooftop for free!
I saw The Producers on Friday night and then Saturday I went with Chris to see Bullets Over Broadway because he loves Woody Allen and apparently looks like him, too. I loved the outdoor theater so much I spent both of my weekend nights on that rooftop.
It reminded me of going to the drive-in back in Ohio, which is one of my all-time favorite activities in the whole world, ever.
On Friday my friend and I went to the Real Food Market behind Royal Festival Hall, and after the movie we went to Wahaca, which is FANTASTIC. There is literally no good Mexican food in London, but everything about this place is great.
It’s right on the South Bank, so you’re sitting in the restaurant with gorgeous views of the river. The service was shockingly good, and the food was even better.
We ordered a sharing menu so we could sample a lot of different things, and we also each got a tequila sampler, which turned out to be good!
On Saturday Chris and I ate at Wagamama before the movie. The only bad thing was that it was SO HOT. This restaurant was one of the 95% of places in England that doesn’t have air conditioning, so we had to use our menus as fans the whole time.
I love this place, though. All the pickled ginger! I could probably eat a whole plate of pickled ginger.
Sunday night ended with me in bed watching MORE Beavis & Butt-Head, laughing my face off and questioning why Butt-Head going to the drive-thru at Burger World and saying, “Can I order a butt?” is laugh out loud funny.
I’m already looking forward to next weekend!
