That’s it. I’ve had enough English “summer” and I’m ready for fall. I saw this on Facebook and got that excited fuzzy feeling in my tum:
Minus the candy corn. I never understood those little pieces of sugary wax as being candy.
At least England has a real autumn. Hyde Park last fall:
Now all I need is for Starbucks UK to finally bring over pumpkin spice lattes …

For some reason I actually liked candy corn as a kid. I still have no idea why. And while I may dread temperatures dropping below 80 degrees (not even kidding–I love summer), I won’t say no to a good pumpkin spice latte…

Um, me too. So now you can see why I hate English summer so much, because it rarely ever gets ABOVE 80.
I might just make a pumpkin spice latte this weekend. I have pumpkin and spice … so why not??

Heck, sounds like the perfect solution! I need to start making my own fancy drinks more often, way cheaper. Just not as fun as actually going out and hanging out at a SB or coffee shop.

Man. Why you gotta go and get me all jealous. When I’m in the US I’m not even joking – I’m going to get a PSL every. single. day. I’m going to sit in Starbucks and think, “THIS IS THE LIFE.”

I can’t believe nowhere in England has pumpkin drinks! I feel like this is an international staple…

I’m totally feeling this, too. The heat has me feeling so slumped.
SCARVES!

I wish I could say the same about the heat here, but there is no heat
It’s usually that awkward temperature where it’s too warm for fall clothes but too cold for summer clothes. I’m getting soooo excited for fall!!

Wow – those photos have me sold on autumn!!!
I love summer, too, so I will take all the sunshine and heat that there is to be had. But as a Great Lakes woman (part of the Midwest!), I love the change of seasons, so I look forward to the woodsmoke in the cool chilled evening autumn air. The crackle of leaves burning, the feel of a sweater on my skin after it has been cooled by the evening air…ahhh…lovely!
the only part I’ll miss out on here in Sicily is the changing colors of the leaves. Some of the trees higher up on the mountain change, but most of the trees in the lowlands do not change, they are just a less vibrant green or the leaves fade until they blow off the limbs.

Haha, that last sentence makes it sound so sad! Are the winters there generally a lot warmer?
I definitely appreciate different seasons as well. In England it’s always more or less the same. Which I do have to admit is nice in the winter. Even though I miss snow and getting all bundled up, it’s never painful cold here.

Those pictures of Hyde Park are gorgeous. I miss seeing the leaves change and all of the smells of fall. Here in Arizona, it’s been in the 100′s all summer and I’m ready to cool off already!
And funny you mention pumpkin spice lattes because I was just thinking about them the other day and how I couldn’t wait for Starbucks to bring them back. Unfortunately for us though, it’s usually still too warm for lattes (I can’t drink hot drinks in hot weather) so I always have to get the frappuccino version.

Yeah I love iced coffee so much that I can never decide if I want the pumpkin spice hot or iced. It’s good both ways! I’ve never tried a frappuccino version, though.
I hear all you guys in the US have had a HOT summer!!! I can definitely see why you’re looking forward to fall temps
What’s the coldest it usually gets in Arizona? I’ve always wanted to go there!

I am the same way about candy corn. I never understood the appeal.
Love making pumpkin lattes. I was so close to making a pumpkin frapp this morning… it may have to be afternoon snack now!

Where was the world before pumpkin lattes?
