This weekend. Fun, but busy.
On Saturday my friend Chris planned out a fun evening in East London.
Drinks at a pub in Bethnal Green.
Post drinks, pre-dinner we walked along the canal, enjoyed a bit of sunshine, and I took tons of iPhone pictures.
I was a little hesitant about going to a restaurant in East London, because while everyone else seems to love it, I mostly can’t. Generally the whole time I’m there I just want to be back in the SW, the love of my residential life.
But! Then this happened:
Prosecco while we waited.
The food was … so good!
Nom-nom, get in muh belly, but try to keep it classy.
You would never, ever guess that this gorgeous restaurant was in this building:

After dinner we walked to Shoreditch and over tiny £8 cocktails watched Mo Farah win gold. So exciting!
Sunday’s home-made pasta making warrants its own post, so that’s all for now!

Classy, indeed! Love how such a fancy place is hidden in an old worn-down building. And I would seriously hire someone to paint that carrot bandit on my house. I wonder if that would affect resale value?

I dunno. But the carrot bandit is awesome enough to warrant a loss, I’d say. Perhaps you should give it a go?

Bistrotheque’s like a speakeasy! You have to already know it’s there, and it’s only indication that it’s open are those alley lights on the right!

Totally! And even though we knew it was there we were really hesitant to just walk up the stairs because there was zero indication there would be a restaurant up there. I am amazed that it was completely packed. Where did all these people hear about it??

I am amazed that that restaurant was in that building! Takes the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” to a whole new level! Did you feel really cool eating in there? I would definitely feel like I was in on some big secret the whole time:)

Yeah, the whole time I was like, “I can’t wait to blog about this place.” It was so much fun!! I absolutely love going out to nice restaurants, and it’s especially nice when you find one in London that’s actually good and the service is nice.
